Purchasing and Planning Supervisor

Job Description
The Purchasing and Planning Supervisor is responsible for managing MRP inputs, fostering vendor relationships and helping the team remove barriers and solve issues. This person will inform recommendations about strategic decisions, consistently evaluating processes and partnerships to ensure they are the best they can be. The ideal candidate for this role is a strong player/coach, is quick to take action and has a genuine passion for leading people and teams.Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the purchasing and planning team
- Provide MRP Subject Matter Expertise (Solid Understanding of Mechanics)
- Mentor Consistent Order Policy and Planning Parameters Maintenance
- Ensure all new products have Planning Inputs for MRP or are on an Auto replenishment system.
- Weekly Forecasting and Planning uploaded to ERP system
- Manage vendor relationships and lead negotiations
- Mentor Sourcing
- Issuing RFQ’s
- Preparing Bid Abstracts
- Evaluate Source Options
- Engineering Point of Contact
- Coordinate Cross Functional Engineering Reviews
Education and Experience:
- At least 3 years experience in a purchasing role, ideally for a similar business
- Proficient use of Google Suite and Microsoft 365
- Proven experience fostering a strong team dynamic
- Able to thrive without direct, constant oversight
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability and desire to work in-person, not a remote role
